Credentials: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), I treat individuals; couples - whether or not married; families of all types; and groups to cure or relieve mental, emotional, and relational concerns of all kinds. I also, provide early crisis interventions and brief, focused psychotherapy to resolve problems or reduce symptoms quickly. Also, I have expertise and skills to work with persons where more intensive, long-term treatment is necessary.

Marriage and family therapy is highly efficient because of the "systemic" orientation which facilitates the understanding of the emotional process in a family and permits people to go beyond blaming, side-taking, guilt, and anger. Some of the common aspects addressed in therapy include marital and couple conflict, parent and child conflict, children’s behavior problems, and phase of life adjustments.

I believe that an individual's emotional concerns or issues are to be treated within the context of his or her current or prior relationships. People who seek individual psychotherapy tend to be the most differentiated members of a family system. Treatment addresses aspects such as alcohol and drug abuse, depression, anxiety, sexual dysfunction, grief, distress, eating disorders and weight issues, children’s behavior problems, and issues with elder care, such as coping with a parent’s or grandparent’s dementia.
